We are thrilled to share some fantastic news from the State Knockout Basketball competition!

A massive congratulations to our Boys’ Basketball team for winning their third-round match in dominant fashion. The boys played outstanding team basketball, and by the early stages of the third quarter, they had already built an incredible 62-2 lead.

At that point, Parramatta West Public School wisely decided to invoke the mercy rule, meaning the score was frozen, and both teams spent the rest of the game enjoying a fun, friendly match. It was a fantastic display of both skill and sportsmanship.

Every single player contributed to the emphatic win, with most players getting on the scoreboard. A special shout-out to Ryan, who led all scorers with a game-high 26 points!

Looking ahead: Our Round 4 opponents for both the Girls and Boys teams will be Pitt Town Public School.

Let’s keep the momentum going!

Go Carlingford West!

Mr Chan, Basketball Coach

Soccer

On the 12th May, Carlingford West will be participating in the State Knockout Competition. Their opponents will be against North Rocks Public School at North Rocks Oval. They are a very formidable team and are strong oppositions. However, we believe, with the right attitude and mindset, Carlingford West will progress through to the next round. We wish both the Senior boys and girls team the best of luck!

Touch Football

On the 13th May, the Senior boys touch football team will be competing in the State Knockout Competition. They will be facing off against Water Road Public School at Evans High School. We believe, with a good fighting spirit and competitiveness, Carlingford West has a good chance on progressing through to the next round. We wish the Senior Boys touch football all the very best.

Zone Cross Country

On a bright and sunny day, students gathered at Masonic Oval for the Zone Cross Country Carnival held on 7 May 2026.

The event brought together enthusiastic runners and supportive spectators, creating an exciting atmosphere filled with teamwork, determination, and school spirit. Participants pushed themselves across the challenging course, showing resilience and sportsmanship throughout the day. With clear skies and perfect running conditions, the carnival was an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone involved.

Students from Years 2 to 6 proudly represented the school in the Zone Cross Country event, demonstrating impressive stamina, determination, and athleticism throughout each race. It was wonderful to see all students encouraging one another and giving their best effort on the course.

A special congratulations goes to Teresa S from Year 4, who came 6th in the 10 years girl race. She has now qualified for the Sydney West Cross Country competition. This is an outstanding achievement, as Teresa competed against some of the strongest runners from schools across the area, and her hard work and dedication have certainly paid off.
