Dear Parents, Carers, Students, and Staff,
We hope all our wonderful mums had a fantastic Mother’s Day last Sunday! Mother’s Day is a special time to celebrate and recognise the love, care, and support that mothers and mother figures give every day.
We are incredibly grateful for everything you do for our students, families, and school community. We hope you enjoyed your day and felt appreciated by those around you. Thank you for your ongoing dedication and involvement—our school is stronger because of you.
On behalf of the school community, I would like to thank the Carlingford West P & C committee for organising the 2026 Mother’s Day stall. It is a gigantic effort to ensure that nearly 1500 students have an opportunity to purchase a gift at school for their mum.
Thank you to the P & C committee and the many, many volunteers needed to run the stall so effectively over 3 days.
Welcome Mrs Yam
On behalf of staff, I would like to formally welcome Mrs Yam to Carlingford West Public School. Mrs Yam is a School Psychologist and has been appointed to fill the school counselling vacancy. Mrs Yam will work on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at Carlingford West Public School.
The School Counselling Service provides:
short-term counselling to students individually or in groups who are experiencing trauma, crisis or unsafe situations
assessment of students with specific needs
collaboration with teachers and specialist staff
help to families in understanding and managing their children’s learning and mental health needs
liaising with external agencies and other mental health professionals to provide coordinated, wrap around support for individual students
Students supported by the School Counselling Service are referred through the CWPS Learning Support Team. Please talk to your child’s teacher to talk about the right support for your child.

2026 NAPLAN Data
We are incredibly proud to share that our 2026 NAPLAN results have started to arrive, with results for Reading, Numeracy, Spelling and Grammar & Punctuation now available (Writing still to come).
These results are a wonderful achievement and a true celebration of the hard work, growth and dedication shown by our students, staff and families. We are so proud of the consistent effort our students put into their learning every day.
These results reflect the strong partnership between home and school, the commitment of our teachers, and most importantly the resilience and effort of our students. Congratulations to everyone involved!!
New turning circle open from Monday
We would like to inform our parent community that the Felton Rd West turning circle will be in operation starting next week from Monday 18th May.
The turning circle will be open for morning drop off and afternoon pick up.
The procedures for this turning circle will be the same as those at the Felton Rd East turning circle.
The pick-up bays have been labelled (A-G) and painted in bright colours to ensure drivers can easily see their allocated drop off or pick up bay.
Also, this is a friendly reminder that there is no overtaking while in the turning circle. Cars must wait patiently for the cars in front to leave their bay before moving.
Please ensure that all cars clearly display the student(s) names to be announced during pick-up. This will help us to keep the process safe, efficient, and smooth for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation.
Kindergarten 2027 Enrolments
Enrolments for Kindergarten 2027 are being accepted for children who live in our school catchment area.
Children born between 1st August 2021 and 31st July 2022 are eligible to enrol.
Parents wishing to enrol their child for Kindergarten 2027 should email our school office at carlingfow-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au and attention the email to Mrs Adams, our Enrolment Officer.
Please provide your child’s name, date of birth and your residential address.
Mrs Adams will respond and advise you on what documents you are required to provide and arrange a suitable time for you to collect the enrolment package. Thank you.

Prospective enrolments can email our school office at carlingfow-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au and attention the email to Mrs Adams, our Enrolment Officer who will arrange a school tour.

Respecting Our Neighbours in School and at Home
We kindly remind all students to be respectful of neighbours both when travelling to and from school and in their own local communities. This means keeping noise levels down, disposing of litter responsibly, and being considerate of others' property and privacy.
Showing kindness and respect helps build positive relationships and a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.
