Special Days - Announcements from Student Leaders

Good Friday Appeal - Final Tally
The Community Leaders are happy to announce that the school raised $649 for the Royal Children's Hospital at the end of last term. Thank you to everyone who supported this effort, and a special shout out to our anonymous donor who put in $100 of that amount - it is really generous of you and so heart-warming to have everyone's support.
In two weeks' time, on Friday 15th May, the Community Leaders are encouraging everyone to wear colourful clothes or rainbows in some form in order to support rainbow families and love in all is colours. IDAHOBIT day, which is on Sunday 17th May, stands for International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia.
Our SRC are working with our Koorie students to plan for Reconciliation Week. We will have a few things happening in Circle Times and lunch times, which we are organising.
On Friday 29th May, we are fortunate enough to have a Smoking Ceremony at 9:30 and then we'll have a special assembly at 2:45. The choir will sing "From Little Things, Big Things Grow" and we'd love for everyone to sing along with them!
Raise Money for Yirrkala Bilingual School in the N.T.
On that day, Friday 29th May, we are asking students to bring a gold coin and dress up in the colours of the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander flags. The money raised will go towards the Yirrkala Bilingual School's wellbeing program and relevant resources.
Thank you Sonya for organising the Smoking Ceremony and supporting the SRC and Koorie students with the fundraiser!
Thanks for your support of our student-led initiatives and the significant days in our calendars!
Warm regards,
Nerida
