Year 1/2 Classrooms
Congratulations to you and your children on a fantastic start to Term 2. We have had an energetic few weeks, and it is wonderful to see so much exciting learning already taking place.
Reminders
- Parent Helpers: We begin in Week 3. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up using the sheet located outside your child’s classroom.
- Specialist Days: Monday and Wednesday are our specialist days. Please check your teacher’s specific timetable to see which sessions your child has on these days.
- Lunchtime Clubs: These begin this week! Check the classroom displays for the full club schedule.
English Classroom News
Our students are becoming true "Australian Explorers" as we dive into all things Australia. So far, the 1/2s have explored the different states and territories, as well as our place on the global map. We will continue this journey by researching and writing our very own information reports.
Spanish Classroom News
In Spanish, we have begun our unit on "Mi barrio" (My Neighborhood). The students are eager to practice their speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills within this theme. It is impressive to see how quickly they are adopting new vocabulary! By the end of the term, our 1/2s will be experts on the places in our community.
Maths News
From Week 3 to Week 5, students will work in targeted learning groups focusing on specific counting and place value outcomes. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to collaborate and build core skills. These sessions will run across the 1/2 building on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
