The 2022-2023 summer sport season at Kinross Wolaroi was an awesome experience as some students honed their tennis skills at the Orange Indoor Tennis Centre. The joy and passion that resonated during this program inspired the decision to enter not one, but three Stage 2 (Year 3-4) tennis teams into the inaugural Orange Division Todd Woodbridge Cup. This link with our sport helped the students immensely in preparing for the tournament, fostering a sense of camaraderie, and boosting their confidence on the court. Embracing our school's inclusive ethos, these teams welcomed newcomers, providing a supportive environment for those playing tennis for the first time. Throughout the tournament, all three teams displayed commitment, resilience, and respect in representing their School.
Amidst the amazing achievements, special recognition is due to Jarvis Byrne, William Davis, Hallie Long, and Julian Capanas, who received awards for their outstanding sporting attitudes and passion for the game. Additionally, we celebrate the triumph of KWS Team 1 for their sensational victory in the Orange Division. Their teamwork and collective efforts were a sight to behold. Congratulations to all our talented athletes for their success! Let's carry this spirit of sportsmanship and unity into future sporting endeavors.
During my initial month at Kinross Wolaroi, I've had the opportunity to witness an impressive level of hockey play that has left a lasting impression. The matches have been marked by skillful execution, evident passion, and a sense of enjoyment, particularly highlighted in the recent local derby between KWS Lions and KWS Rhinos, where the Lions secured a victory. Their adept use of strategic passes to advance the ball and create scoring opportunities underscores their solid grasp of the game's fundamentals. These performances have left myself eager to witness the unfolding chapters in the matches ahead. Well done!
