Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival

Congratulations to the Marist Musicians who participated in the Catholic Colleges Music Festival last weekend. The Festival returned this year in full capacity since COVID and it was great to see Marist once again competing in each of the top A grade sections for Choral, Strings, Band and Symphony. This is a testament to the depth and quality of the boys’ standard of performance. Congratulations to Big Band 1, Performance Choir and Chamber Choir who received a gold award and Chamber Strings, Marist Voices, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Orchestra and Big Band 2 who were awarded silver. 

Essentially Ellington Down Under Festival

New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra will be returning to bring this exciting festival to Australia while visiting as part of their Australian Tour. The Essentially Ellington Down Under Festival 2023, facilitated by the Jazz Music Institute, will feature high school Big Bands from across Brisbane and Southern Queensland. Each band will be adjudicated by Jazz at Lincoln Centre representatives from New York. Marist College Ashgrove is proud to be hosting this event. Big Band 1 and 2 will be performing in this highlight event of the year. Members of the Marist College Ashgrove community are invited to join in this wonderful display of Brisbane jazz talent.

Grandparents Day

Soiree

All members of the College community are invited to this annual gala event to farewell our 2023 Year 12 students. This celebratory concert will feature all of the College’s large and small ensembles. Food and drinks will be available to purchase.
