Animal Production

This term the Year 11 students have been completing a Produce for Purpose assessment This involves students studying the College sheep enterprise's calendar of operations and learning about how to monitor animal growth and development to meet market specifications.

Last Thursday students attended the Sheep section to put their newly learnt theory into practice. Students completed a sheep appraisal of the Merino ewes which included assessing the animal structure and fleece quality. Students also completed body condition scoring, a mouthing assessment and general classing of Merino wether lambs.

Congratulations to all the Year 11 students for having a go and being so engaged in their learning. Thank you also to Mr Adams for his assistance and organisation at Sheep.
