This Weekly Wrap will be going out as final preparations are being made by those students attending the Ball. I know they will all look fantastic on the night and have a great time, but I ask families to help to keep their young ones safe in any after-ball celebrations that might occur.

Similarly, I remind families that the Ball operates under normal school rules, so any student in possession of or under the influence of illicit substances will have to be collected by their parents. All that said, I know families will be proud of their young people and the enjoyment they get out of the rituals around the Ball.

I had a conversation with some students this week about what a corsage was; how else but through attending a Ball do you learn about such things?

Employment Opportunities at the College

Currently we are advertising two Technical Officer positions; one permanent position aligned to the Dairy and one 12-month, with the possibility of permanency aligned to Horticulture. Technical Officers are involved in managing and maintaining Farm enterprises at the College and instructing students on the associated theory and practical.

If any of our College community knows someone who might be interested and suitable please direct them to the Jobs WA website which has all the details.  The link can be found in the 'Job Opportunities' section of this newsletter.

2024 Student Numbers

We are approaching our final round of offers for 2024 and finishing our interviews next week.  Year 10 and 11 parents would have received an email at the beginning of the week in regards to your child returning to the College next year, please complete this form and return it to the College by Monday 28th August.   We know it is early daysbut it is useful to us to know our current students' intentions for 2024 as we plan for next year. By letting us know, you are certainly not jeopardising your child’s position at the College but giving us some advance warning of your intention.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I have been really enjoying watching the Matildas playing and enjoying their success. They play with such skill, athleticism and competitiveness but with such joy as well. Last week’s game was a nail-biter and this week’s game was an unfortunate end to a stellar World Cup Series. Lets hope that women’s sport gets a higher profile in future.
