Academic Integrity at School

Over the last few weeks Ms Ryan, our Library Manager, has been working with students from Years 6 – 12 teaching them about academic integrity (being ethical) in the work they produce.

Students in Years 6 to 8 have been learning how to avoid plagiarism and how to write a bibliography, while students in Years 10 and 11 have been shown how to create a bibliography and how to use library databases for research.

To support students in their learning, the Library website, accessible via Schoolbox, has been revamped for students.  Be sure to check it out!

Book Week - Next week

Next week is Book Week (19-25 August 2023) – one of the most exciting weeks on the school calendar. The library staff, teachers and the SLC have been working together to organize a variety of activities throughout the week to celebrate the theme Read. Grow. Inspire. We are looking forward to the involvement of all students from Prep to Year 12 in this event.

On Friday 25 August students will be allowed to dress up as a book character. We are requesting a gold coin donation for the privilege of being in non-uniform for the day. All monies received from the non-uniform day will go to supporting the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Fund's initiative of sharing a book to First Nations kids and assisting in training and enhancing children's literacy development. Amongst the other activities occurring this week, the SLC will be hosting a Book Week Fashion Show at lunchtime on Friday, with prizes going to the best costumes.

We look forward to seeing all students getting involved and embracing Book Week 2023.
