From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,
Last Sunday our Year 3 /4 students celebrated their First Eucharist. The celebration was a beautiful and reverent one and we are very proud of all involved. Special thanks to Fr Leo for celebrating the Mass, Miss Tess and Ms Maree (our R.E Leader), for their preparation and organisation of the Mass and program. Our teachers who also attended to help and support, the families and of course our wonderful Year 3 /4 students. Congratulations!
Father’s & Special Persons Day

We look forward to welcoming these very special people into our classrooms from 8:45am-9:30am and then the Dads/ Special People will enjoy some donuts & coffee in the hall. If you have not yet responded please do so, via email to schooladmin@stbernardscoburg.catholic.edu.au by tomorrow morning at the latest, for catering purposes. Students are encouraged to come dressed like their Dads. Students will not be able to come to the hall though. The Fathers’ Day stall for students will be held after the morning festivities.

MACSSIS Parent Surveys (August 28th – September 15th)
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS) are a set of tools for creating, collecting, analysing, interpreting and using data to inform Catholic school improvement. MACSSIS produces perception data, which tells us what different people in a school community think and feel about their learning environment.
At this time of the year we select 50 random families to complete an online survey that usually takes between 15-30 minutes. Those families will have received an email from the school that will provide you with the link to access the survey, an individual pin number (password) and a letter explaining the process.
The survey link is now open, we ask that all selected families complete the survey as this provides us with important information in our forward planning for the school. Please complete the survey before 15th September.
Food Allergies
A reminder to families there are a number of students who have serious food allergies. We ask that if your child is bringing food that contains nuts, that they inform the teacher of this, allowing the movement of children away from the food.
Fees Reminder
School Fees and Levies for 2023 are now due and we ask that payments be made as soon as possible. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the office to arrange to meet with me to discuss.
Foundation 2024 Information Session - change of date
The Foundation 2024 Parent Information Session is now being held on Friday 24th November. The children will be in the Foundation classroom while the parents will attend the information session in the hall. We have made it on the last orientation session as the children will be more comfortable staying longer in the classroom.
