Book Week
Afternoon Bookworms and Lovers of Literature,
The time has come! Tuesday the 22nd of August is upon us. We are all so excited to be welcoming grandparents and special people to our school for a fabulous parade celebrating our love of literature. It is the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week, and we get to enjoy all our new books in the school library. This year’s theme is Read, Inspire, Grow. I will be transforming into a character that grows into a pink, sparkly creature and inspires others. You will have to wait until Tuesday to see.
This year we are encouraging families to donate a book for our library. This book can be pre-loved or bought new from one of the many awesome bookshops in our community or a fabulous op shop. The book will have a special dedication featuring your child’s name and the special person donating the book. This is a lovely opportunity for students to have a cool book in the library with their name. The wee poppets love it!

The Victorian Premiers Challenge is still happening. Hopefully every student is adding their books and reviews. The book reviews have been amazing and our students love giving their feedback on all books. The good and the not so good. We have already read a total of 552 books throughout the school and each day many more are being added.
Happy reading folks,
Lizzy
