SAPSASA Soccer

On Friday, we had our Year 6’s entered into the SAPSASA Soccer carnival. The competition was tough, and games were short, sharp and shiny, losing our first 3 games. Players faced experienced teams, and skilful players. We showed amazing resilience, grit and determination, even when things didn’t go our way. I commend our team’s flexibility in trying new positions and ensuring everyone had a go in their preferred positions. Our newer players learnt quickly of the rules and our experienced players really showed leadership in supporting and encouraging one another.

We did however, finish on a high, winning a penalty to equalise in our final game. We not only snatched our only point from the tournament but scoring our one and only goal! The celebration of scoring saw our who team run nearly the whole length of the field! Celebrating together was very warming. A big thanks to all our parent helpers, driving and supporting. A shout out to Mr. Wain for organising and arranging our Good Shepherd team. A ripper effort by all!

Year 2/3 GS Rockets

The GS Rockets defeated the Pedare Stars 22-13 Wednesday afternoon.  Both teams applied strong defensive pressure during the first half making it difficult for either side to score.  During the second half, the Rockets were able to break away.

Scorers: Jonte (8 pts), Hunter & Elijah (6 pts each), William (2 pts)

Coach: Gavin Dew

Year 4/5 Warriors

Round 5 vs Prescott Wolves was our best team game for a 26/14 win. Defensive pressure started us well and ended with our most scorers for a game and an exciting end with Jake getting 2 goals in the last 30 seconds and Flynn with his highest score.

Scorers: Jake 8, Flynn & Nate 6, Tennyson 4, Eden 2.

Coach: Jade Custance

Year 5/6 Raptors

The GS Raptors secured their second win of the season getting up 47-20 over the Pedare Thunder.  With only five players again, the Raptors had to spend the entire game on the court without a break.  Once again, the available players dug deep and pushed hard all match.  Jayden and Oscar controlled the game, Hadassah impacted multiple rebounds against much taller opposition, Blake chipped in for some handy points and Downey’s defensive pressure was strong all match.

Scorers: Jayden & Oscar (21 pts each), Blake (5 pts)

GS Little Jordans

GS Little Jordans v  Hoops I did it again

6/21. Our opponents were a considerably taller team this week and whilst we didn’t win the game all players rose to the challenge. Gabe, Marcus and Hirdey all scored a basket each and our defence kept the other team in check with Xavier playing a key role.

7&Under Netball

Wow! So much running this week, and another great win and kept the opposition scoreless. Our team was moving well, making space (especially in the goal ring) and leading forward - I think we're starting to get the hang of it! There were quite a few red faces by the end of the game - we really worked hard!

I was also really proud of the team for pausing and checking on one of the other team's players who got a ball to the face. Really living up to the Good Shepherd value of Love right there. Awesome work GS Stars - let's keep it up!

8&Under Thunder

We faced CH Wolves for another win. First game with a full team of 7 and the most scorers we’ve had in a game sharing the ball around and our key defenders Jacob, Felix and Zeppelin are starting to shine.

Scorers: Tyson 9, Austin 4, Zeppelin 2 & Bodhi 1

Coach: Jade Custance
