Principal's News

Dear Armadale Community,

I hope you all enjoyed a mid-week break yesterday not having to bring the children to school. The staff were all trained in our annual CPR; anaphylaxis and asthma updates and some staff continued on to do their first aid training. In the afternoon all staff worked on their curriculum planning documents in preparation for Term 4.

Happy Father’s Day to all of our Armadale dad’s, Grand -dads, Stepdads and Special males in the lives of the children.

I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday spending time with the children and the family doing fun things together. Dad jokes are definitely allowed on the day!

I also hope you can make it to the Father’s Day Evening on Friday September 8th at the Toorak Bowls club and enjoy games of bowls, convivial chatter and refreshments. Thank you to Rod, Jimmy and Phil for all their wonderful organising of this event.

Monday and Tuesday are Family Conferences from 2.00 pm -5.00pm

A reminder to our community that our teachers are running Family Conferences for you all to participate in on Monday and Tuesday of next week. This is your opportunity to meet with the class teacher and be informed on your child’s learning progress in Term 3. The teacher’s will also share their evidence of the learning growth and the strategies used to move the learning forward in Term 4. Your child is integral to this conference as it is their learning which is the focus. We intentionally afford the children agency and ownership over their learning, and it would be a backwards step to talk about the children’s learning without them there, rather than with the children present, so please ensure you collect your child from the MPC if their conference is scheduled before 3.30pm. For all conferences after 3.30pm, please bring your child with you.

STUDIO 54 DISCO Fundraiser Friday August 25th

A huge thank you to Tam and Diana for co-ordinating such a successful night for our community. I have only received fantastic feedback on what a fun night it was.

Thank you to the entire PFA committee as well - Vijetha; Natasha; Dhanya; Phil; Sabina; Kate H; Jimmy; Jess K; Stella; Krista; Marissa; Emma S for all of their help and support, in particular Vijetha and a group of Grade 1 mums who helped Tam in setting up on the day; to Nathan and Andy from Jellis Craig for their amazing financial sponsorship and live auctioning on the night, to Sam E for preparing and organising an amzing spread of food last minute, to Zok and Jen for the fabulous music; and to Zoe Broughton for her fun and laughs. Could anyone else who helped please accept this as a personal thank you.

A huge thank you to all the parents and staff for supporting our school and helping us to realise our friendship circle for the children. I don’t have the final amount that was raised as yet but I am sure Tam and Diana will share that with all next week.

I haven’t seen many photos but I do have 3 to share with you and congratulations to Miss K (Grade 1 teacher) for being the best dressed teacher!
