Debating Workshop

Nine students from Year 5 and 6 travelled to Jerrabomberra Public School for an intensive debating workshop on Tuesday 28th April. Grace, Bonnie, Jasmine, Patterson, Sapphire, Jordan, Alice, Dekota and Piper, members of Goulburn Public School's two debating teams for 2026, learned about the rules and strategies for a successful debate with students from twelve schools in the zone. After being given a lot of new information, they participated in a mini-debate to practice their newfound skills. 

The teams will each compete in four debates over the next term and a half as they strive to reach the knockout phase of the Premier's Debating Challenge. We wish them all the best as they apply some challenging and important skills in the competition.
