A Huge Thank You to Our Generous OSHC Families
We would like to say a huge thank you to our incredibly generous OSHC families for their recent donations to the service.
A special thank you to Paul, Eve’s dad, for donating a large amount of Lego to OSHC. Students have been busy every session building amazing creations and using their imagination and teamwork skills.
Thank you also to:
Coco and Jason, Aiden’s parents, for donating wobble stools, stationery, and various resources
Amanda for the mini table tennis and air hockey table
Kathrin, Julie’s mum, for the dress ups, books and games
Kate, Billy’s mum, for the huge bag of soccer balls
We are so lucky to have such generous and supportive families within our OSHC community. These donations are already being thoroughly enjoyed by the children and help us continue to create engaging and exciting experiences each day. We are so grateful for your kindness and support.

Footy Tipping
Congratulations to Vinnie for achieving the highest score in last week’s OSHC Footy Tipping round with an impressive score of 7! He even tipped Richmond! Well done, Vinnie, we can’t wait to see how everyone goes this week.
OSHC Leadership News
Congratulations to Emma W on being appointed our 2026–2027 OSHC Captain!
Emma has already shown wonderful leadership and initiative in the role. She has successfully completed her Do Food Safely online training, allowing her to assist educators with food preparation and serving at OSHC.
Emma has also begun surveying students to gather their ideas and feedback around improving our pack up time, ensuring student voice remains an important part of our program. She is currently working on ideas and improvements to help make the OSHC space even more engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
We are very excited to see Emma continue to grow in her leadership role and make a positive contribution to our OSHC community. Well done, Emma!
National Sorry Day 26 May and Reconciliation Week 27 May - 3 June
At OSHC students have engaged in thoughtful and engaging conversations around National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. Emma, our OSHC Captain, read pages from the book Come Together, which sparked meaningful discussions about reconciliation and what it means to be “All In,” this year’s Reconciliation Week theme.
Children have been sharing their ideas, asking questions and reflecting on ways we can all work together to build respectful relationships and understanding. We’ve also been playing games such as Pacman trivia, where children use their knowledge about important events including the 1967 Referendum and the 1992 Mabo decision to answer questions and work together as a team.
Whilst there has been a strong focus on these important topics this week, teaching and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and our shared history is an ongoing and valued part of our OSHC program throughout the year.
It has been wonderful to see students so engaged, respectful and eager to learn more about Australia’s shared history and the importance of reconciliation.
Quality Improvement Plan
This fortnight we continue to reflect on Quality Area 2 of the National Quality Standards: Children’s Health and Safety, with a particular focus on Child Safety and Wellbeing. At OSHC, we are committed to creating an environment where every child feels safe, respected, included and supported.
We are always looking at ways we can strengthen children’s sense of safety, belonging and voice within the program. This includes building respectful relationships, supporting children to express their thoughts and feelings, ensuring clear behaviour expectations and embedding child safe practices into our daily routines and interactions.
We value feedback from our families and children and encourage you to share any ideas, suggestions or reflections around child safety and wellbeing at OSHC. Thank you to those who have already spoken with educators or shared feedback with us. Your input helps us continue to improve and strengthen our program for all children
Account Reminder
Just a reminder that statements are sent out on Mondays with payment required within 1 week (unless other payment arrangements have been made). To ensure your child’s ongoing place within the program please ensure these are paid on time. Thank you.
Did You Know the income threshold for Child Care Subsidy is $535,279?
Your subsidy percentage decreases gradually as your family's Adjusted Taxable Income (ATI) increases:
Up to $85,279: You receive a 90% subsidy.
$$85,279 - $535,279: The subsidy decreases by 1% for every additional $5,000 earned.
Over $535,279: You will not be eligible to receive a subsidy
Services Australia works out a family’s CCS percentage based on their family income estimate. A family’s CCS subsidy rate is the percentage of the hourly rate the government will subsidise. It will apply to the hourly fee or the relevant hourly rate cap, whichever is lower.

Quote Of The Fortnight
“Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude” - Denis Waitley
