Dear Parents, Carers, Students, and Staff,
National Reconciliation Week
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories. cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.
All Inmakes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.
The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.
Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.
Storm Water Drainage Works
We have been advised by Roberts Co, our builders, that they need to do additional storm water drainage works at our school. The work will commence on Friday this week.
This will impact access around the hall and Y block. There will be ATF fencing installed around the work zone and additional fencing will be placed around construction equipment in front of the hall.
There will be a path left around the work zone for us to access the hall and Y block but it will be restricted by the fencing and may get congested at peak times. Please follow the directions of the traffic controller.
We aim to keep disruptions to a minimum. The work will take place after school and on weekends to minimise noise and disruption to classes. We have attached a photo below. The works are marked in yellow.
We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
Turning Circle
Thank you to our community, especially our students for following our Turning Circle instructions during the opening phase of Felton Rd West Turning Circle.
Students who use our Turning Circles will be bringing home a postcard. On the front of the postcard are Turning Circle Rules for students. On the back are our usage guidelines for parents and carers who pick up in Turning Circle.
We are in the process of installing speed bumps at Felton Rd West.
Please be mindful of speed upon approach and entry of Turning Circle.
Behaviour Expectations
As a Carlingford West community we pride ourselves on being respectful. We are explicitly teaching our students what it means to be respectful. For example listening and speaking respectfully, valuing and including everyone, caring for our environment and wearing our uniform with pride.
In terms of Respect for our Environment this week we continue to focus upon respecting our school bathrooms. Please reinforce these behaviours with your children at home. In school bathrooms it is our expectations that;
- School property is respected
- Students wait patiently and quietly for their turn
- Privacy is respected
- The area is left clean
- Good hygiene is practiced. We have hand washing signage
- Food is not taken into bathrooms.

Kindergarten 2027 Enrolments
Enrolments for Kindergarten 2027 are being accepted for children who live in our school catchment area.
Children born between 1st August 2021 and 31st July 2022 are eligible to enrol.
Parents wishing to enrol their child for Kindergarten 2027 should email our school office at carlingfow-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au and attention the email to Mrs Adams, our Enrolment Officer.
Please provide your child’s name, date of birth and your residential address.
Mrs Adams will respond and advise you on what documents you are required to provide and arrange a suitable time for you to collect the enrolment package. Thank you.

Prospective enrolments can email our school office at carlingfow-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au and attention the email to Mrs Adams, our Enrolment Officer who will arrange a school tour.

Respecting Our Neighbours in School and at Home
We kindly remind all students to be respectful of neighbours both when travelling to and from school and in their own local communities. This means keeping noise levels down, disposing of litter responsibly, and being considerate of others' property and privacy.
Showing kindness and respect helps build positive relationships and a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.
