Report

Welcome to Week 7! As we head into the first day of winter, there are lots of exciting things happening across the school.

Little Long Walk

On Friday, our school was proud to take part in the Little Long Walk, a wonderful program inspired by AFL legend Michael Long's iconic walk to Canberra in 2004, which put the lives of Australia's First Nations peoples back on the national agenda. The Little Long Walk is a great way to celebrate and educate students, staff and the whole school community about First Nations peoples and cultures and is a highlight on our school calendar. Our students walked with pride, and a special thank you to Brittany for supporting students to create the incredible banners they carried on the day and to Tanya for organising an amazing performance of ‘Beds are Burning’ by the Year 3/4 students.

Block upgrade

You may have noticed some exciting new additions to our school! We are thrilled to have new shade sails installed on the block, providing our students with a sun-smart, comfortable space to play and learn outdoors.

National Simultaneous Storytime

This week, our Prep to Year 2 students gathered in the hall to take part in National Simultaneous Storytime, where schools and libraries across the country read the same book at the same time. This year's book was Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller, a fun underdog story about a kangaroo chasing her football dreams. It was a joy to see our littlest learners cheering Luna on together and joining in on the goal celebrations.

Evolve Education

This week, our Year 3 to 6 students are taking part in online safety workshops delivered by Evolve Education. Evolve Education takes a practical, collaborative approach to encouraging safe online behaviour and tackling common digital challenges. They are endorsed by the eSafety Commissioner as a Trusted eSafety Provider, so we're confident our students are in great hands. If you'd like to continue the conversation at home, ask your child what they've been learning later on this week!

District Cross Country

Last week, 58 of our students represented our school at the District Cross Country. What an incredible effort! We are so proud of every single student who laced up their shoes and gave it their all on the day. A huge thank you to Ben for his organisation and dedication in making sure our students were well prepared and ready to shine. Well done to all involved!

Attitudes to School Survey

Over the past few weeks, our Year 4 to 6 students have been completing the Attitudes to School Survey. We are pleased to share that our initial data is very positive, which is a testament to the incredible work our teachers do each and every day to ensure our students feel safe, supported and heard. We look forward to sharing the data with the community soon.
