Anzac Day Service and Whole School Events

Anzac Day Commemorative Service

This Wednesday the 24th of April, all families are invited to attend a whole school Anzac Day Commemorative Service at our school.  The service is dedicated to the memory of Australians who have served and died in war.   All grades across the school will present a wreath during the service, as well as a poppy they have made.  We are excited to announce that an ex-serviceman and ex-servicewoman will be part of the service, as well as a bugle player.

Time:   Just after 9.00am

Location:  Basketball courts

Additionally, on Anzac Day, Thursday 25th April (Public Holiday), Mrs Wood and our grade six leaders will attend the Dawn Service at Caroline Springs Lake.  They will arrive by 5.30am.  The location is Caroline Springs Memorial.  They welcome members of our school community to join them.

Harmony Day

Our celebration of Harmony Week at Mackellar at the end of Term 1 is captured in our photographs below.  The learning across the school gave students a deeper insight into what Harmony Day means and why it is so important to us regarding inclusiveness and celebrating cultural differences.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated by wearing orange or cultural dress to school.  Having students share information about cultural food was also much enjoyed, along with a Buddy lunch where students met with their Buddy grade for the first time this year.
