Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden

Tomorrow the Year 5/6s will be the last group to cook and share a meal this term. Their session was delayed due to the storm. We are in the process of setting our dates for next term, when the Preps will be part of the fun and have a session too! Look out for the booking form shared via Flexischools.

We have been so fortunate to have the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program running since the beginning of 2023, nurturing seeds of curiosity and cultivating a love for fresh, wholesome foods.

Stella has been the heart and soul of our program, tirelessly tending to the planning and implementation of the recipes our children cook each term, alongside John Bernardo who ensures our garden is thriving.  With gratitude and appreciation for Stella's dedication, we now look towards the horizon and the next chapter in our program's journey. As Stella prepares to step back from her role in 2025, we extend an invitation to passionate individuals eager to carry forward the torch of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.

Are you someone with a passion for cooking and education? Do you believe in the power of connecting children with the earth and fostering healthy eating habits? If so, we invite you to consider taking on the mantle of leadership in 2025. Stella is keen to have someone work alongside her over the course of this year to go through the process.

If you're interested in learning more about this opportunity or know someone who might be a perfect fit, please reach out to Karen Gosling via email kgosling@cohroakeast.catholic.edu.au

Thanks also to John for looking after our Veggie Patch. Thanks too to all the mum, dads, aunties, grandmas and friends who have come and helped us to prepare our own produce and create such wonderful food.

If you missed the recipes from this term, they are attached below. The pumpkin cake was certainly a crowd favourite!

Let's continue to cultivate growth, one garden bed and one curious mind at a time!
