Learning Powers this Week!

Each week we are introducing you to St Joseph’s Learning Powers. These have been designed to support students to build their dispositions for learning and embed the skills needed to be lifelong learners. Each week students and staff will be focused on one or two learning powers by connecting them to our learning to deepen our understanding. Last week our Focus Learning Powers were Curious Learner and Problem Solver. This week they are focusing on Creative Learners.

Curious Learner

This learning power supports students to be curious about their world and ask questions to gain a deeper understanding of their place and impact on it. When students show curiosity they become agents of their own learning and find interesting learning that often sparks new ideas and thinking.

Problem solver

Our second learning power is Problem Solver. Problem Solvers are strategic and can make connections in their learning. Students who apply the skills and knowledge they have learned in other areas can attempt new problems and try different strategies until they find a possible solution.

Creative Learner

Our final Learning Power is Creative Learner. Creative learners use their imagination or combine things they know to create something new or unique. Students are encouraged to take risks in their learning by designing and exploring new ideas.
