Year 12 Physics – Luna Park excursion

On Monday 4 March, Year 12 Physics students attended an excursion to Luna Park. Students had an opportunity to experience firsthand the application of physics theory in the real world. Here are some reflections from the students.

The excursion was enjoyable, and the booklet covered content from chapters 1 and 2 about forces, motion, energy, and collisions. It was fun going on the rides and spending a day completing activities with friends while still contributing to my learning and understanding in physics. Chloe Skipworth (12.8)

The highlight of the excursion was being able to view the physical concepts in a real-life environment. It helped me gain a better understanding of the concepts we learned in class. Raymond Luo (12.7)

I found that, for me personally, the excursion really highlighted the effects of the normal force. In different situations, my apparent weight changes due to different circumstances. The highlights for me were the roller coasters, the jet simulator, and completing the booklet. Une Geisler (12.10)
