PATHWAYS INDUSTRY VISIT - POLICE STATION

MRS SALLY LOONEY & MRS ANNA STEICKE - PATHWAYS TEAM

Our Year 10 Pathway students have started their industry tours with local organisations by exploring a range of different industries within our wider community.

Last week we went to the Swan Hill Police Complex where students were greeted by Leading Senior Constable Andrew Downes, Leading Senior Constable Tania Peters and Leading Senior Constable Jodie Ebinger, who explained all the different roles within the Police Departments and the career pathways and life experience different officers have taken before joining the Victorian Police.

A highlight of the trip for the students was getting to see some of the different equipment that police get to use as well behind the scenes looking around the station and asking lots of questions.

The trip was a fantastic learning opportunity for the students to gain a sense of community as well as ask questions on how they can apply for a position within the Victorian Police and what skills and attributes they are looking for within the police force.

We would like to thank Leading Senior Constable Andrew Downes and the community engagement officers at our local police station for their time.
