Dear Parents, Grandparents & Friends,
The weather has certainly turned cooler this week. The leaves are falling and Autumn has definitely arrived. I hope you have been able to stay warm at night!
We held the Annual General Meeting of Dana Street’s School Council on Monday night. It was wonderful to welcome our new member, Charlotte King, to the team. I am really excited to be working with this year’s Council, to continue to drive improvement in school governance. During the meeting, our Executive for this year was duly elected. I am pleased to announce the following.
School Council President: Steve Rothberg
School Council Vice President: Chloe Ye
School Council Treasurer: Leith Thomas
Thank you to the many families who have donated Easter goods for our Easter Raffle. The online raffle is a different system this year, but believe it or not, when running a raffle, we are required to register with the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission. Our online portal allows us to do this with ease and also harnesses the power of social media to spread the word. Thus far, it has proven to be very popular! There is still time to donate, if you are willing and able. All proceeds will go towards the Good Friday Easter Appeal and some sports equipment for our school. The raffle will be drawn on the final day of school, at our Values Assembly.
On Wednesday of next week, our school will be conducting an emergency Fire Evacuation Drill. This is only a drill, so please do not worry if you hear our school siren. The drill will begin just after 1:00pm.
Next week is the last week of Term 1 and I am at a loss as to where the time has gone. Our Values Assembly will occur on Thursday morning from 9:00am, so please feel free to come along and support our school. As Thursday is the final day of the term, we will have a 2:30pm finish.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Ryan 😊
“Supervision time begins at 8:30am and finishes at 3:45pm. Where possible, we appreciate you understanding that our staff are busy in the mornings preparing for the day. Students will not be actively supervised outside of these times”
