Outside the classroom
Teacher triathlon team
A group of PMPS teachers stepped out of the classroom, where they’re used to exercising their mental muscle, and stepped on to the beach at Elwood to put their actual muscles to the test. Bo, Victoria, Steve, Alex P, Sophie and Kathleen competed in teams at the 2XU Triathlon Series! An amazing achievement, well done team!
Clean Up Australia Day
We are delighted to share with you the success of our recent Clean Up Australia Day excursion to Port Melbourne Beach. It was an inspiring day filled with enthusiasm, community spirit, and environmental awareness.
Our Grade 4 students, along with dedicated parent volunteers and in collaboration with Port Melbourne Beach Patrol, embarked on a mission to make a positive impact on our local environment. Armed with gloves, tongs, and an eagerness to make a difference, our students took to the beach with determination and enthusiasm.
Throughout the day, we witnessed incredible teamwork as students and volunteers worked together to collect litter, plastic debris, and other pollutants from the shoreline. It was heartwarming to see our students engaging in meaningful conversations about the importance of preserving our natural habitats and the detrimental effects of pollution on marine life.
We are immensely proud of our students for their proactive approach to environmental conservation and their dedication to making a tangible difference in our community. Their passion and commitment serve as a shining example of the positive impact that young people can have when they come together with a shared purpose.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parent volunteers who generously offered their time and support to make this excursion possible. Your participation was instrumental in the success of the day, and we are truly grateful for your ongoing commitment to our school community.
Special thanks also go to Port Melbourne Beach Patrol for their invaluable collaboration and guidance throughout the excursion. Their dedication to protecting our local beaches and waterways is truly commendable, and we are honoured to have partnered with them for this event.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day a resounding success. Together, we are making a difference!
