Meet our year 5 teachers
Miss Elara
(5A and Team Leader)
Hello! My name is Elara and this is my 4th year at PMPS. I've spent my time in the senior part of the school, where I've enjoyed making learning engaging, fun and exciting. I love the challenges, successes and everything in between that each student provides and look forward to continuing my learning journey at PMPS over the coming years.
When I'm not at work you'll find me in a coffee shop or doing Reformer Pilates (which if you ask my students, has apparently become my personality trait). I love going on long walks, spending time with my friends, and being creative with my partner while trying to work out what renovations to do to our home! I am a very proud supporter of the mighty Blues and look forward to the AFL season up and running again... Hopefully no tears this year!!

Hello year 5 families! I’m excited to get to know everyone in our Year 5 cohort. As most of you will know, I came to Port Melbourne Primary in Term 3, 2023 and have spent the majority of my time in Year 5. Luckily I am working at Port Melbourne full-time in 2024 and will be teaching alongside Miss Elara, Miss Sophie and Mr Jac. I particularly enjoy teaching maths and can’t wait to see what the students can achieve in 2024.
Outside of school, I love surfing, swimming, playing footy and computer gaming (when I get some free time). I have only been in Melbourne for one year, having moved up from Tassie at the start of 2023! Hopefully you guys have lots of suggestions of fun stuff to do and see in Victoria.

Mr Jac

I’m loving teaching another year at Port Melbourne Primary School, my fifth at the school. I have a particular affinity with teaching literacy and extension numeracy but have a wealth of knowledge across the entire curriculum.
Beyond the classroom I love my sport; in particular footy, soccer and basketball. I’ll keep bragging about Geelong’s 2022 premiership whenever I get a chance. When it comes to basketball, I love all things NBA, especially the Brooklyn Nets. I also love going to the cinema to watch the latest film and going to concerts to watch an array of bands and artists!

Miss Sophie

Hi, my name is Miss Sophie and I am currently working in the 5CD classroom with Mr Jac. I have been at Port Melbourne PS since the beginning of Term 3 2023, having moved back to Melbourne after 3 years living in Darwin.
When I am not teaching, I am camping, playing netball or watching Richmond win in the footy. I also love hanging out with family, especially my 2-year-old nephew, Tommy.
