Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a great time of the year.  We have lots to celebrate and anticipate as we finish 2024 and prepare for 2025.

On Friday 15th November our Art KLA (Key Learning Area) organised a wonderful evening showcasing the fabulous art that our senior students have produced throughout the year. This year we saw many different forms of media used, 2D and 3D art, painting and pottery.

We have some very talented students at our College and the evening was a opportunity to celebrate their hardwork and dedicated. Congratulations to our students and to the staff involved.

Tuesday last week we celebrated the efforts and achievements of the students who are part of the Clontarf Academy.  It was an opportunity for students, staff and families to celebrate the academy students in 2024. The evening acknowledges all students and recognises the students who have excelled in academics, sport or for living true to the values of our College and the Clontarf Academy.

Congratulations to all the students who received awards.  I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Turk, James and Willy for their dedication and commitment to the Academy, the students, our College and the community.

On Thursday last week I had the privilege to be a part of the Graduation ceremony celebrating our Year 12 students and the end of their 13 years of primary and secondary education. The evening was a huge success and an opportunity for students, families and staff to celebrate our amazing students.  The number of people that attended the event was wonderful, over 500 people, not a spare seat in the house!  It was great to see families; mum, dad, aunt and uncles and grandparents celebrate this wonderful occasion. Thank you to our families for attending.  Congratulations to everyone involved in making this evening a huge success.

Today we say goodbye to our Year 11 students.  They have had their study camp and 2 weeks of Headstart setting them up for a great start in 2025.  We wish them a great holiday break and look forward to seeing them when they return in 2025 as Year 12 students as they embark on their final year of secondary school.

Next week the remaining year levels start their transition.  Year 7 move to 8, Year 8 to 9 and so on.  This week there is excitement around our College as students prepare for their move to their new hub and starting their classes for 2025.  Some students during the period of moving to a new hub and year level can get nervous.  If you or your student have any questions or concerns about Headstart please contact the hub staff to have a chat.

Please ensure that you and your student are aware that this is happening and what it means. The process of moving year levels can be very exciting for some students and can also make others nervous. If you feel that your child is unsure about the process of Headstart please be sure to contact the relevant hub to have a chat.

The next few weeks are filled with exciting new adventures and activities, please ensure you are aware of keys dates, these can be found on the upcoming events page of our newsletter.

Sincerely,
