SLC REPORT:
P&F & SLC Report
We have had a rather quiet start to the term with sickness, holidays and new working hours having to postpone the meeting on 2 occasion. However, the Hot Dog / Footy Day was a great success on the last day of Term 3. P&F organised the hot dogs and delivered them to a very eager and hungry mob of AFL supporters. Thank you to Becky & Suze for cooking up a storm – not a Melbourne Storm though! I’m unsure of what money, if any, was raised on the day.
We have launched the Splatacular which will be held on the 21st of November at the request of our SLC members. Our P&F will assist with the set up and pack up along with the splatting of staff and students during the event.
We are seeking more volunteers for the day and a note will be coming home shortly seeking parents and friends who wish to support our school from about 12:30 – 3:30 to ensure enough set up and pack up time is allocated.
We are seeking permission from School Council to employ the services of the fire brigade to add a touch of water to the fun. It was a very popular addition last time however, there was issues with the oval where the truck was parked. This time however, we would look to strategically park the truck on the outside of the oval either on the basketball court or on Colibin St (if we are allowed by the Shire Council).
We are looking to raise $10,000 to put towards a concrete path around the oval connecting the existing path to a new section enabling our students to use bikes and scooters as a regulation activity, reward or just an alternative activity at recess time. We are using Fundraising Australia to support this activity.
SLC have identified rubbish as an ongoing concern in the yard and have launched operation ‘Keep it Clean’. This involves each class allocating 2 students to be on rubbish pick up at the end of each recess in their allocated area. We’ll keep you posted on how this works out.
We continue to have weekly SLC meetings on Thursdays at second recess.
Students are now making a fortnightly report at assembly on behalf of SLC and this report will then make its way into the following newsletter.
Keep spreading the work about our fundraiser and we’d love to see some strong support for the event on November 21st from 12:30pm from our parents and their friends.
