Crazy Colour Day!
Friday, 15 November
We all had the BEST DAY EVER at our Crazy Colour Day!
Thank you to everyone who made it special; our students for raising funds for a new outdoor classroom, our amazing volunteers and staff for getting involved (and coloured!), our families for coming along and our incredibly generous community for supporting our fundraiser!
While our ultimate goal for this fundraiser was to raise money for a new outdoor classroom, it was equally important to our planning committee to generate positive energy, team spirit and create an inclusive campaign providing equal opportunity for all students. This included random draws which all of our fundraisers were eligible to enter regardless of how much they raised, and class-based incentives instead of major prizes for the highest individual fundraisers. Our mission was to create excitement, fun times and laughter, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The squeals following the sliming were simply priceless!
We are all excited to see work commence on the outdoor classroom and look forward to fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration within our school community.
On the 15th of November, we had an event called Crazy Colour Day. We were raising money for an outdoor kitchen, seats, a pizza oven and more.
The whole school raised a total of $37,549.00, WOW! It took place on the oval where everyone participated, even some teachers joined in as well! We ran around the cones that were set out on the oval, and while we were running teachers, volunteers and support staff were spraying us with colour, water and they even tried to hit us with pool noodles! There were obstacles such as weaving sticks and bubbles.
Crazy Colour Day made us super excited because we got to have a good time with our friends while getting messy! We also felt happy because we felt proud of our efforts in fundraising (and also our bonus prizes!). We could run with friends and wave to our family when we were running past them.
We would like to thank all the parent volunteers and staff but mostly Miss Robinson, Mel, Josh and Miss Lewis for organising everything for us!
A huge congratulations to 401 who won the class party. There were hot chips and ice blocks and everyone had a fantastic time. They won because they had the highest percentage of students actively fundraising. Congratulations to Willow from 401, Rory from 405 and Aubrey from 1306 who were randomly chosen to slime Mr Darren.
Well done GPS!
