Foundation
Today, our Foundation and Year 1 students delighted the school with another great performance at assembly, showcasing their learning from this term’s Inquiry topic, Minibeasts. Not only did they share their understanding of the fascinating world of minibeasts, but they also demonstrated significant growth in their performance skills. From speaking clearly and confidently to managing their roles on stage, the students have made wonderful progress in self-management and teamwork. Well done to all our performers!

Year 2/3
Howdy Families,
Here we are in Week 7, gosh this term is flying by. We thought we would share with you some activities/games we have been working on in Maths. Children have been using a deck of cards to make their highest number possible with 2 or 3 cards. They make the number, say the number and then the person with the highest number gets to keep that round of cards. Once they have finished the full deck the person with the most cards wins. The key to this game is saying the number out aloud. We have been very impressed with how much children have enjoyed this game and the variations they have made, as well. You might like to enjoy this game at home. You can also see in some of the photos children wearing headphones, which is a new addition to the classroom. Children like to use these to focus on what they are doing and cancel out other noises. Enjoy the photos!
Have a GREAT weekend.
Year 3/4
Wellbeing
Kate has been teaching the students hand and stick drumming. We have started to do this in class and the students are having lots of fun with this.
In Wellbeing we have started the Topic - Gender and Identity.
The students have started to learn how we are all different in some way. That we have similarities and differences and this enables us to have diverse friendships, and that we all have different strengths.
The first activity was to play Human Bingo and to find people who had something in common. The students had to ask questions and learnt new things about each other.
Year 5 Camp Reflection by Aleisha and Allie
This year at camp, the year 5/6s had a very enjoyable time. This special camp was a very memorable time for the year 6s. Not only was it their last camp in primary school, but it was also one of their last moments spending quality time with their year 5 friends. We had many highlights during this camp, but the best, and probably funniest one was the 3:26am incident!
You may be thinking what that random time has to do with camp, well, it all started when some year 6 boys, Fortunato and Connor, decided to “ding dong ditch” the other rooms. Marty, who was trying to sleep, had heard footsteps and a very strange laugh happening, so he got up and checked the time - he saw that it was 3:26 am!! And he recognised that laugh, it was Fortunato! So Marty got out of his room, walked to the kitchen area and the first thing he saw was Ornella running up to his face like she was getting chased by a zombie!!
And guess what? The zombie was me! I was walking behind her and I was super tired when I got up because I heard noises. I looked like a zombie. Marty pushed Ornella to the side and walked through the kitchen to see Connor in the year 5s room, possibly in the middle of ‘ding dong ditching” them too. According to Alex, Isaac was running up and down the 5 and 6 boys room.
We did many activities at this camp like the Leap of Faith and The Giant Swing which were everyone's personal favorite. In Leap of Faith, you are on a harness and you have to climb up a pole and you have to jump and tap a ball that is hanging on a rope. You will fall pretty quickly but then the others will pull you down, safely. It is a game of trust and we all enjoyed doing it and trusted in our friends. The Giant Swing is where you get pulled up by a rope and when you get up the top, there’s a thing YOU pull that then turns into a GIANT swing! Don’t worry, we were all on a harness and we were all very safe.
Camp was super fun; we did many more exciting activities that brought us closer together and created lasting memories. The days were filled with laughter and new challenges, pushing us to try things we’d never thought about before. It was a great chance to do things that we aren’t very familiar with!
Year 5 / 6
What a special few days we had away with a fantastic group of young people. Mature, responsible and respectful are three words that spring to mind when I think about this cohort. It was a blast (particularly at 3.26am the morning of Day 2!). All students were given the opportunity to engage in activities outside their comfort zone; such as the Dual Zipline, Leap of Faith, Archery and the Giant Swing. Students also got a chance to collaborate with team members across a number of initiatives, such as Orienteering, Initiative Games and Hut Building. It was a fantastic time by all in attendance. Now for some sleep.......
Finally, it wouldn't have been camp if.....
# Isabella used the word ''geniunely' instead of 'generally'
# the Year 6 boys got any sleep whatsoever
# there was no 3.26am!
# the Year 5 boys room wasn't also a Convenience store
# we didn't stay awake after light out
# the girls didn't gossip after dark
# we didn't have Eddie the best bus driver in the world
