YOUTH ENGAGEMENT TEAM RECRUITMENT 2025

Calling any young people aged 18-25 who live in Glen Eira to join the Youth Engagement Team (YET).

The YET consists of young people aged 18–25 who meet fortnightly during the term to engage on Council plans, initiatives and strategies that impact young people. The program runs for 12 months and is an opportunity for young people to learn more about Local Government, whilst enhancing their leadership, advocacy and public speaking skills. The program is delivered through a safe and inclusive space at the Bentleigh Library and Youth Hub.

The 2025 cohort will co-design the Connecting with Young People Toolkit and the annual Glen Eira Youth Survey, helping to inform Council about what matters most to young people. There will also be opportunities to co-design other youth programs and initiatives.

The YET is an incredible opportunity for young people to be active members in the community and to further platform the youth voice.  As quoted by a current YET Member, Talia “The program is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are keen to make a community impact. I am grateful to have had the chance to collaborate with like-minded people and explore various sectors within Council through the ‘YET’ program. Through YET I had the chance to engage in unique leadership opportunities, meet amazing people and learn new skills. Thank you, Glen Eira, for the opportunity! I encourage everyone to give YET a go!”
