As the incredible year of 2024 comes to a close, we want to celebrate the exciting moments and achievements that have made this year so memorable for our Year Five students. It has been a year filled with learning, growth, and plenty of fun along the way.Highlights of 2024
This year has been jam-packed with amazing activities and events, including:
Reconciliation Week, where we deepened our understanding of Australia’s history and worked together to promote respect and unity.
A fascinating excursion to Scienceworks, where students explored Stories in the Stars and The Lights, Energy, Action show.
A heartwarming baby shower for Mr Vella and a joyous bridal shower for Mrs Colling.
The unforgettable Camp Kangaroobie, where students braved the outdoors, built resilience, and formed lasting friendships.
The engaging Life Ed incursion, helping us learn about the changes that are beginning to happen to our bodies.
The vibrant Colour Run, which brought splashes of colour, energy, and laughter to our school.
The exciting Dream City incursion, where students explored worlds Virtual Reality, Electrical Engineering, and Sports Science.
Beach Program at Williamstown
Over three fantastic Fridays, our students participated in the Beach Program at Williamstown Beach. This program was an absolute highlight, with students learning vital beach and pool safety skills. They also enjoyed beach games, built creative sandcastles, mastered the use of nipper boards, and much more. The program not only built confidence in the water but also fostered teamwork and strengthened friendships in a relaxed and fun environment.
Shark Tank
Earlier this term, students embraced their inner entrepreneurs during our Shark Tank activity. Each student designed, pitched, and presented creative product ideas across five different categories. Teachers played the role of Sharks, selecting the most successful pitches in each category. The creativity, innovation, and effort from all students were truly impressive. Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?
On Monday, 16 December, we wrapped up the year with the much-anticipated Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? event. Students faced off against teachers and parents in a fun-filled afternoon of trivia and challenges, showcasing their knowledge and teamwork. The event was followed by a delightful class party and a cohort disco, ending the year with music, laughter, and celebration.
As we say goodbye to 2024, we are incredibly proud of everything our Year Five students have achieved. They have grown so much, both academically and personally, and we know they are ready to take on new challenges in the years ahead.
