It's Term 4! The UV is increasing. Please remember to bring your school hat!
Remember your school diary everyday!
Hello Level 3 Families,
Home Learning
This week for home learning we are having a Level 3 Challenge between the 3 classes. We are asking the students to keep track of their reading in their diary each day and bring their diary to school each day. The class who has the highest partitiation wins a prize at the end of the week.
Spelling - we have been learning about the Latin base tract meaning to pull. When you add the prefix con, re, at, dis or sub, so many new words are made. How many words can you make with the base word 'tract'? You might like to add a suffix too.
Can you underline the morphemes in the word unattractiveness.
Clue: attract = at tract
Please ensure laptops are charged each night and brought to school each day.
In Reading, we have been reading Frank's Red Hat. Some of the themes of the story are about belonging to a group, being unique, it's ok to be different. Ask your child about Frank and how he coped with the opinions of others.
In Writing, we have finished our own version of The Boy and The Elephant and completed a number of Big Writes to practise all our writing skills. We have also been practising using speech bubbles to show the point of views of characters.
In Maths, we have been reviewing solving addition worded problems using the bar model. Below is an example. It is just another way to solve problems.
In Inquiry, we have started our ERPs on Healthy Mind, Body and Relationships.
Students are researching ways they can promote a positive lifestyle to improve and maintain a healthy life.
A short L3 section this week as we have also been finishing off assessments and having fun at the Dancing and Colour Run!
