Year 3/4

What Are We Learning This Week? Students have continued reading the class novel Uncle Xbox, further strengthening their reading fluency and oral reading skills. Alongside this, students have been making connections to their History learning by taking notes and analysing information related to Captain James Cook and the colonisation of Australia by Britain. This week, students will continue developing their recounts by writing their second body paragraphs, while also strengthening their understanding and use of coordinating conjunctions within sentences.
In Mathematics, students will begin exploring the concept of area after successfully developing their understanding of perimeter. Students demonstrated confidence when applying their perimeter knowledge to measure a variety of objects around the classroom.
This hands-on learning experience was both engaging and enjoyable for the class. Our classroom has also been fortunate to welcome Mrs Griffiths for the next three weeks as she completes her pre-service teacher placement. Mrs Griffiths is excited to meet, observe, engage with, and teach the students throughout her placement.“I feel inspired and grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside Mr Larose and receive guidance as I continue the next two weeks of my teaching journey.”
