Prayer and Acknowledgement

Prayer

This week, St Brendan’s School has been celebrating the joyful feast of Pentecost, celebrated on Sunday, 24th May and often called the Birth of the Church.  Celebrated 50 days after Easter, Pentecost marks the moment the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles, filling them with courage, wisdom, and hope to share the Good News of Jesus with the world.

Throughout the week, our students and staff have been acknowledging Pentecost in meaningful ways within their classrooms and prayer spaces. Each class has displayed a red cloth on their prayer table as a symbol of the Holy Spirit, representing the fire, love, and presence of God alive within our school community.

Students have been learning about the symbols of Pentecost, including wind, fire, and the dove, and reflecting on how the Holy Spirit guides us to be people of kindness, courage, compassion, and unity. Through prayer, discussion, and shared experiences, our students are discovering ways they can live out the spirit of Jesus in their everyday lives at school, at home, and within the wider community.

As a Catholic school community, Pentecost reminds us that we are all called to work together to build a welcoming and faith-filled community where everyone belongs and is valued.

We thank our St Brendan’s families for the many ways you nurture faith, hope, and love within your homes and support the spiritual life of our school.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and inspire our students, staff, and families this Pentecost season.

Come, Holy Spirit
