Music Night 2024

Thank you to everyone that came along to our annual Music Night on Tuesday 11 June. The evening featured stellar performances by all of our College Ensembles including the Jazz Band, Chorale, Guitar Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, String Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Liturgical Choir, as well as our self-managed Year 10 Bands and our powerhouse Certificate III Music Bands. It really was a showcase of the incredible talent and dedication of our students and left everyone in awe of the rich musical culture at the College.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated Arts Department for helping out. Thank you to Ms Tania Harvey for assisting front of house, Ms Karen Cassidy for helping back stage, Mr Craig Mecham for taking photos and Ms Jennifer Rigg for operating the lighting. Also thanks to Mrs Jenny Palermo, Miss Jane-Marie Lee, Ms Cecilia Loh, Ms Jaime Paulin and Mr Scott Arnold for helping around the Xanten Performing Arts Centre on the night.

Farewell to our String Ensemble Director

This week we farewell Mr Oscar McDonald who has been our String Tutor and String Ensemble Director since 2021. You may not be aware, but Mr McDonald is also a former student and returned to St Norbert College just two years after he graduated (Class of 2019), to assist with our Instrumental/Vocal Tuition Program. We thank Mr McDonald for his commitment, from Training Band last year, to leading a String Quartet full of our scholarship students this year, and wish him all the best as he takes on a new role as a Town Planner.

Whilst it's always sad to say goodbye, we're excited to welcome Ms Sonya Maher in Semester Two.
