2024 School Council
Dear Parents,
Notifications will soon be sent, and deposits requested, regarding our 2025 camp to Phillip Island for this year's grades four and five students (next year's grades five and six students). This camp is a little longer than our recent grade three and four camp. Next year's camp for grades five and six students will be four days and three nights long, and is anticipated to cost approximately $650 per student.
We understand, as does the government, about the current cost of living, and how this price may impact families wanting to send their child. In the recent May budget, the state government announced a one off $400 payment for families per child enrolled in a government school, the School Saving Bonus.
Attached is a link to information regarding the School Saving Bonus which is a $400 credit available to families for each child enrolled at a government school. This amount will be available in term four of this year with further information coming out to parents from the Department next term. Parents are welcome to select what this amount may be used for based on guidelines from the Department, such as school uniforms, sports and camping programs. If you do select to use this for next year's camp, we can arrange that once the credit is available, thereby reducing the cost significantly. Hopefully this opens up the opportunity for more students to attend what will be a wonderful camping experience.
Regards,
Vince Scarfo
