Lok-Lok Eagles have once again soared through another spectacular week. We have witnessed many Eagles demonstrating the Super 7’s and earning our house an enormous number of tokens. Keep up the great work, it is not going unnoticed! The athletics are within our sights, and we can see the enthusiasm and excitement building amongst our mighty Eagles. After speaking to some fellow Eagles, they have expressed their feelings of excitement and determination about competing in the upcoming event. There is a sense of nerves and anticipation amongst us, but we know the Eagles are not shy of a showing off their skills and teamwork. We wish all students the best when encouraging and competing in the athletics, we know you will once again do us all proud and we can’t wait to see how the day unfolds. We would like to shine some light on some of our fellow team members who have been acknowledged for showing amazing effort in all areas of the school. Congratulations to Alf Seignior from 2/3BR and Felix Anderson from 5/6P on receiving this Strech the Brain and Principals awards. We love seeing our Eagles doing great things each and every week. We can’t wait to check back in with you and share all the outstanding achievements from the upcoming athletics event.
Remember, Eagles Soar as One!

As we continue through Term 2 in 2024, the formidable Guliwan Kangaroos are already leaping towards some exciting milestones! Having bounced through several awesome Education Week activities, Camp for the ¾’s, Wellbeing Week and Walk 2 School Day, the values of encouragement, respect, teamwork, and risk-taking continue to come to the fore.
Let’s check in with some of our students! Sienna J and Scarlett in ⅚ recently returned from Somers Camp on the other side of Melbourne, showing amazing risk-taking and resilience whilst forming lots of new relationships. Scarlett’s highlight was making damper during bush cooking, which required her to be a problem-solver as part of a team as they constructed fires. Scarlett found the giant swing most challenging but tackled it with a growth mindset to defy her fear of heights. Sienna loved the opportunity to participate in abseiling and rock climbing down a 17 metre high building, an outstanding effort! She was super resilient across the 9-day camp and also took the plunge on the giant swing, despite recognising the sheer height of this as her greatest hurdle. Amazing work from two Gulliwan role models! Hamish in ⅚, a new Gulliwan recruit in 2024, has demonstrated the Gulliwan values of courage, team-work and encouragement during his recent football games. He told this edition of ‘Press from the Pouch’ that his school highlight was the community spirit shown during Walk Safely 2 School Day, when we all walked down to school together.
Keep it up, Kangaroos!
Looking ahead to the coming weeks, we're excited about an array of opportunities for not only the Guliwan Kangaroo students but also our friends from Lok-Lok Eagles. Exciting opportunities for growth and challenge await in weeks 7 and 8, such as the Bully Zero incursion, SSA footy and netball for the ⅚’s, and the Ceres Big Freeze 3.0. With these awesome events on the horizon, we can’t wait to see our students thrive as they continue to build passion and community involvement.
