Foundation

FOUNDATION

The Foundation students have had a wonderful Term 2 so far with lots of new learning and fun activities occurring in the classrooms.  

Mother’s Day morning 

Last week we had our Mother’s Day morning. We had some fun stations set up around the room where kids and their mum / special person got to choose what they wanted to do. It was great to see everyone having a good time! 

Open Night 

We also had our Open Night! Foundation students were able to visit different classrooms around the school and explore what each year level was learning. They could also come into their own classrooms to play with Bee-Bots, glow in the dark play doh and other hands-on activities. From what we saw and heard, the Foundation students loved the Book Fair and bake sale.  

Literacy 

In Literacy, the Foundation students have been very excited to have finally learnt all the sounds in the alphabet and are enjoying learning more digraphs, consonant blends, vowels and syllables in a word.  

Numeracy 

In Numeracy, we have been collecting and investigating data. Students have had multiple opportunities to ask others in their class a variety of questions and learn new things about each other. It has been great to see how confident they are becoming when talking to their classmates and how much they have enjoyed learning about data. We have also been looking at partitioning numbers up to 10, where students have enjoyed using more hands-on materials.
