Dear Parents and Friends,
It was great to see many of the St Christopher's mums attend the afternoon tea last Friday after school. This was an opportunity for mums to socialise and spend some special time with their children. Thanks to those parents that assisted with preparing and running the event. We hope all our wonderful mums had a terrific day last Sunday.
Thank you to Sumana Thevarajah (mum of Thivyan) who donated her time and products to set up the lovely tables and decorations for the afternoon tea.
Sumana has an Instagram page for those who may be interested in getting Sumana to make your next party or event beautiful.

Our school will host a Scholastic Book Fair from 20 - 22 May. The purpose of the book fair is to promote an interest in reading books, allow students to purchase books as well as gain resources for the school. Tomorrow students will have an opportunity to view the books. There will be three opportunities for students and parents to purchase and order books. Monday 20 May: 1:10-2pm, Tuesday 21 May: 3:30-4pm and Wednesday 22 May: 8:30-9am. This will take place in the Open Area in the classroom building. Parents are welcome to attend with their child.
Tomorrow all students will have an opportunity to view the books. They will bring home a pre-payment form (see below) and a 'wish list' that will allow families to pre-purchase books or other items. This is the preferred method as it eliminates bringing cash or an eftpos card to school. If you wish to use the pre-payment form, please make sure you record the receipt number and total amount. Your child will then need this form to collect the books at school. Students and parents may also purchase books with cash or by EFTPOS during the Fair. Items that become out of stock will be re-ordered and delivered to school after the conclusion of the Book Fair.
Our annual Book Fair Parade will take place next Friday, 24 May at 9:10am in the school hall. Students are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Each class will parade in front of the school. This day is normally lots of fun so we hope all students join in and dress up. It's not necessary to buy a costume. Ask your child to get creative and use what you already have at home.
Assembly will take place tomorrow in the school hall at 3pm. Our 3/4A class will be hosting this assembly. All welcome.
A number of junior school students have recently been bringing toys to school. While this is allowed, it is advisable that expensive or 'special' toys are left at home. The school is not responsible for any toys that are lost or damaged.
A special welcome to Alvin Tajeu (Year 4). Alvin recently moved from Kenya to Australia and commenced in 3/4/A. We are extremely happy that Alvin and his family have chosen to be a part of the St Christopher's community.
Does your child have music lessons at school or outside of school? If so, Mrs Markham is encouraging them to share and play their instrument during their Music class on Thursday March 28.
Reminder - M76 Mount Waverley Water main Renewal project on High Street Road. This project has obviously commenced.
The works directly impact how many staff/parents access our school. There is no right hand turn around the intersection, lane access along the work area will be limited to one lane in each direction along High Street Road.
If you have any concerns regarding your child's learning or wellbeing, please contact their teacher or myself.
Regards
