Education Support Personnel (ESP) Day
Education Support Personnel (ESP) Day was joyously celebrated by both staff and students this week. Recognised internationally on May 16th, ESP Day serves as a poignant reminder to express gratitude towards the invaluable Education Support staff and to acknowledge the significance of their contributions within our schools. In anticipation of ESP Day, it was imperative for everyone to extend their appreciation to our school's remarkable ES staff members, comprising individuals from our Admin Team, Inclusion Staff/Teacher Aides, and Multi-Cultural Education Assistants (MEAs). Commemorative morning teas and assemblies were organised across both campuses, ES staff members were presented with heartfelt cards from students with expressions of gratitude and thoughtful gifts. As we navigate the days ahead, let us ensure to take a moment to convey our heartfelt thanks to our exceptional ES staff.
National Volunteers Week
Next week is National Volunteers Week, Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering. This week-long event recognises the vital support that the millions of volunteers in our country provide to their communities and encourages people to consider volunteering. Within our school community, volunteers play pivotal roles in facilitating our Community Hub programs and contributing to our School Council. We extend a warm invitation to all of our outstanding volunteers to join us for a special morning tea at the Community Hub (Springvale Campus) on Monday, May 20th.
Community Hub Visitors
A noteworthy highlight this week was the visit of distinguished guests, Zoe Williams (Assistant Secretary) and Brian Myers (Director, Settlement Grants Section), to our Community Hub. They graced a playgroup session at the Springvale Campus, gaining first-hand insight into the exceptional programs offered by our hub and hearing testimonials on the profound significance and positive outcomes of our hub classes. We were elated to receive news this week that the funding for Community Hubs in Victoria has been secured until 2027, marking a significant milestone for our community.
A reminder that parents / carers are invited to attend our Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony on Monday morning (Heights Campus 9.30am, Springvale Campus 10.15am) to launch the Reconciliation Week celebrations.
Have a great week ahead!
