For the Model UN our topic was Hear My Voice: Recognising the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. We were allocated China and Panama as our countries and students had to create and present a position statement representing each of these countries. The students then spoke and negotiated with other nations to create an amendment. During Session 3 the countries debated those amendments and at the end of the session we voted on the amendments.
Congratulations to our year 9 students who participated: Felix, Sam, Benji and Charlotte
Our Year 9 German class have been exploring the restaurant etiquettes in Germany. This unit on food has developed into students creating their own menus in German and ultimately creating a short skit performance.
We thank our guests that came to watch our German skits, Tara Bland, Marita Fry, Steph Ellul, Pamela De Geus, Zoe Cooper and Leanne Burgess.
Our School for Student leadership students have been further engaging in our wider community, having meetings with the Council and community groups. Below is a picture of Ayrton and Thomas walking into the Forge Theatre meeting room to discuss approvals with the East Gippsland Shire of where they can place their mural around our buildings in the coming months.
Homework club is held in the Senior building every Wednesday and Thursday. This is open for ALL students at our College.
Homework club is a terrific opportunity for students to both catch up or get ahead in work. Students are offered the opportunity to work in small groups with other students or have one on one tutoring with their teachers, or other teachers.
If you are interested, speak with your teachers and let them know when you are looking to attend or go to the Senior building on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
Homework club runs from 3.20 pm to 5.00 pm and students are free to arrive and leave as they need.
Morrisby interviews started this week with many parents involved in the process which is great to see. Students can see their times for their interviews on their compass timetable.
