In the Kitchen with Chris

We harvested Cavalo Nero (Tuscan Kale), curly kale, silverbeet, oregano, parsley and thyme and used 2 Red Kauri pumpkin for the 456H Pizza Cooking.

We created 3 pizza toppings first - Caramelised Pumpkin, Kale and Onion and Tomato Passata, oregano and Mozzarella for the Margherita topping.

The students did a great job, kneading and rolling out their individual pizzas and then decided to have fun and be creative with the shape of their pizzas. See the photos of the interesting and tasty pizzas they created.

They worked so well they also had time to make pizzas that will be put in the freezer for student lunches. James and Harlow also prepared and dehydrated oregano and thyme we can use for other dishes.

Romy added celery salt to her “All the cheeses, oregano and Passata” Pizza and so did Chloe. Chloe ate her pizza into a love heart.

Pepper, said, “I made the kale mixture and made the dough really thin. It was good.”

Harlow said, “I wanted my pizza to be thick and fat and doughie and I loved it I ate the toppings first.”

Elisabeth said, “My pizza was supposed to be a star but it turned into a blob. It has a lot of flavours of tomato and all of the cheeses and oregano.

Otto, said “My inspiration was the movie Ratatouille. I wanted to make a pizza for the little rats.”

James said, “I love cheese so I made this cheesy pizza!”
