Celebrating Mary in the Month of May
Thank you to the parents and carers who were able to pray with their child(ren) at SPaRs (Stop Pray and Reflect) in the Church foyer over the last few weeks. The Statue of Mary has been beautifully decorated with flowers and greenery to honour Our Lady of Fatima during the month of May. Parents and students placed offerings and prayed to Mary in quiet reflection. You are invited to visit the Church before and after school each day except Monday.
The Easter season is officially over after 50 days and it is now ordinary time on the Church calendar.
It was lovely to see so many Year 6 students and families celebrate the birthday of the Church at the Confirmation Commitment Mass last Saturday night. Please keep the candidates in your prayers as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation over the coming weeks.
A great time was had by all celebrating Mother’s Day at the Bunnings Mother’s Day Family Night as you can see by the photos. It was free including a sausage sizzle, popcorn, slushies, fairy floss and fun activities. The next event will be the Father’s Day Family Event - usually the Thursday before Father’s Day. I will keep you posted!
Another fun (and free) celebration! On Saturday 12th May the Parish celebrated our feast day and Father Anderson’s 34th birthday with prayer and dinner. It was beautiful singing the Rosary and Latin hymns in the Church with Father Anderson, Father Zeljko, parishioners and seminarians.
And the dinner in the De La Salle Hall with paella, salads and Croatian desserts was amazing! Father Anderson is a soccer fan hence the soccer birthday cake.
The sun was radiant for our fun sporty session after prayer time last Friday. Thanks to the Year 5 students for leading us in prayer and organising fun activities on Fatima Forum. Fatima Friends is on every Friday after School Assembly (but check the school calendar for updates) from 9.10am - 9.30am but sometimes we are having so much fun we run over time! All pre-schoolers, babies and toddlers are welcome to come with parents and carers.
The next session is Friday 31st May (The Feast of the Visitation and also Father Julian’s birthday!)
I invite families as we continue the month of May to live our school motto “To Love and Serve Under Your Protection.”
May Mary bless you and keep you safe.
