Intermediate Boys Black Range Football

On Friday 24th May two Horsham College teams travelled to North Park Stawell to compete in the 2024 Black Range Football competition against Stawell SC, Marion C and Ararat.

 

Horsham College 1 were successful in winning all their games and will now progress to Ballarat on Tuesday 11th June to compete in the Greater Western Competition.

 

Well done to the much younger Horsham College 2 on your day only dropping 1 game which was against HC 1.

HC1 - 57 def HC 2 - 6

HC1 – 58 def Ararat College - 1

HC 2 – 15 def Marions College - 12

HC 2 – 28 def Stawell – 7

HC 1 – 27 def Marian College – 0

 

Due to an injury the final couple of games were not played as they had no bearing on the result.

A big thank you to those boys who happily played for other schools to help them out, this is a great display of our school values and thanks to Mr Hose and Mr Petering for coaching both teams.

 

BLACK RANGES YEAR 7 & 8 GIRLS NETBALL 

On Tuesday the 28th of May, Horsham College had three Year 7 teams and four Year 8 teams represent the school at the Black Range Netball competition held at Central Park.

 

The Year 7 Blue team had a very successful day on the court winning all matches and demonstrating spectacular match play. This team will now head to Ballarat on Wednesday the 26th of June to compete in the Greater Western Region Netball. Congratulations girls!

The Year 8 Blue team had a great day on the court winning all matches. This team played in the Semi Final against the Year 8 Yellow team, where they came off with another win to earn a place in the Grand Final. In the Grand Final our HC Blue team had a convincing win against Holy Trinity Lutheran College 14 to 6 goals. The Year 8 team will also head to Ballarat to compete in the Greater Western competition in late June. Amazing effort girls.

Year 8 Boys Black Range Football

Congratulations to our Year 8 Boys on winning this year’s Black Range Football competition at Horsham City Oval, they will now progress to the GWR championships in Ballarat.

 

The Horsham College team was made up of 27 very eager students all keen to pull on the boots.

Well done to those students who helped out and played for other schools that were short on numbers and a big thank you to Mr Beddison who stepped in to coach the boys in the absence of Mr Argall.

 

You should all be very proud of the way you represented Horsham College keep it up boys.

GREATER WESTERN REGION CROSS COUNTRY 

On Monday the 27th, HC had twenty students qualify and compete in the Greater Western Region Cross Country event held at Reid Oval in Warrnambool. Each Student should be extremely proud with how they ran in very warm and sunny conditions.
