Student Attendance
It is important for students to attend school on time every day, with Form Group beginning at 8:50am. If your child is sick or absent, you are required to notify the school as soon as possible on the day of absence. Notifying the school of your child’s absence either prior to or on the day they will be away, helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and will fulfil your legal responsibility.
If a student is late, students must present either a signed note, or with their parent/guardian to the Administration Office to resolve the lateness and for the student to receive a late pass. Similarly, for leaving early or for appointments, notes need to be provided ahead of time to either the Administration Office or the Year Level Office.
Mobile Phone Ban Reminder
A reminder that the Department of Education has in place a mobile phone ban that requires students who bring mobile phones to school to have them switched off and securely put away during school hours.
This helps ensure that school is a learning environment free from unnecessary distractions and disruptions.
By ensuring mobile phones are kept away at recess and lunch times, students can interact with each other face-to-face, without the distractions and social pressures that mobile phones can cause.
I ask for the support of all our families, staff, and students in continuing to support the implementation of this policy in our school.
Curriculum Day & Long Weekend
Finally, this Friday is a school curriculum day, which means that no students are required at school. The Study Centre will be open for Year 12 students wishing to complete study at school. This is followed by Monday being a public holiday in recognition of the King’s Birthday. For anyone travelling this weekend, please take care, and I hope everyone has a restful long weekend.
