Congratulations to our
Behaviour Spotlight winners.
It’s the end of Term 2, Week 2, who can believe it?! This week our Behaviour Spotlight is to focus on walking safely and quietly in the corridors. Moving around the school in a calm and sensible way helps keep everyone safe and learning. When students walk instead of rushing, it reduces accidents like bumping into others or tripping over bags, especially during busy times like after recess and lunch
Year 1 -
Only their second year at school and these superstars have mastered the art of electronics. Year 1G and 1W have been shown how to master Ipads. Many of the students have taken the opportunity to use many new apps and websites like prodigy and codable. One final shoutout to these amazing students of Year 1.
Word of the week: Compliance
Compliance means to listen to the teacher’s directions, and go to it without any trouble or answering back. You do this because the teachers are trying to help you. It also means to listen to school rules, like the 7 habits and not talking in the corridors, our PBL spotlight for week 2 & 3!
GATEWAYS
On Wednesday, our students Ashlyn, Noah L, Olivia and Mia went to a Gateways Eureka program “Transcending Timeless Tales” at Corpus Christi school. While there, they learned about classic fairy tales, wrote hilarious and nonsensical poems, and created futuristic time travel stories, all while meeting and getting to know students from other Broken Bay schools. It was a very fun and enjoyable experience, and an excellent opportunity to learn more about stories in the past, present and future.
Ashlyn’s Poem: The day my sister ate a fly
It was a rainy and foggy day,
but my sister must’ve thought it was Funday.
She skipped outside and opened mouth,
Ahhh, swallowing the raindrops facing south.
But then, a fly decided to be her lunch,
And flew into her mouth with a bristling crunch.
My sister skipped to Europe and back,
Spitting out the fly, going BLAEACKKK
She drank all her water AND her fizzy soda,
Sipped her juice and expired Coka Cola!
Poor mosquito, to be brutally bitten in half
But don’t worry, it had a good laugh.
My own sister was now murderer,
Known to the world as the viral mosquito gobbler.
Year 4 - Recount Writing Task
Our Year 4 students have been enthusiastically bringing their imaginations to life through their latest writing task. Focusing on key skills such as tense, plurals, paragraphing, punctuation, and capitalisation, students worked together with their teachers to develop clear success criteria before beginning their pieces.
The classroom was calm as students explored a range of creative ideas, including fantasy worlds, superhero water slides, trips to Candyland, adventures inside storybooks, and even journeys across the solar system.
We are incredibly proud of the creativity, focus, and effort shown by all students.
Kindy - Swap the Sounds
Our Kindergarten students have been exploring a fun and engaging “Swap the Sounds” literature task! By changing the beginning, middle, or ending sounds in words, they’re discovering how new words are formed while building strong early reading skills.
It’s been wonderful to see their creativity shine as they experiment with language, share their ideas with friends, and celebrate each other’s learning.

Have a wonderful weekend.
