Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents,
ANZAC Day
On Sunday 26 April, several of our Year 6 student leaders had the honour of representing our school at the traditional annual ANZAC Day Service held at The Parish Church of St John the Evangelist, Gordon.
The service brought together members of the local community, veterans, parishioners, students and their families, and was a deeply respectful occasion of remembrance and reflection. The service included a special commemoration of the 18th Battalion, Ku‑ring‑gai Regiment, recognising its historical service and sacrifice.
Our student leaders - Eleanor, Carsten, Allison, Noah T., Budhi and Emma represented our school with great dignity. They laid a wreath on behalf of the school community and presented a Book of Prayers for the Fallen, contributing meaningfully to the service. It was heartening to see so many Holy Family families present to support this important act of remembrance.
The service was also attended by Mr Matt Cross MP, Member for Davidson, Mayor Christine Kay, and representatives from other local schools, along with principals and members of senior leadership, reflecting the strong sense of shared community and respect for ANZAC traditions. I was pleased to attend the service alongside our students and colleagues.
In addition to this community event, our entire school gathered last Friday for our own ANZAC Day Commemoration Service. This was an extremely reverent occasion, with students participating thoughtfully through prayer, reflection, and silence. The respect shown by the students was a powerful reminder of their growing understanding of the significance of ANZAC Day and the values of service, sacrifice, and remembrance.
My sincere thanks to Mrs Overton and Mrs Edwards for accompanying and supporting the students, and for helping prepare them for this meaningful responsibility. Their guidance ensured the students participated with confidence, respect and understanding.
These opportunities, both within our school and beyond, reinforce the importance of remembrance, faith, and community - values we continue to nurture and uphold together.
Lest we forget
