Year 11 & 12 Workplace Learning

All Year 11 and 12 General students have received their Workplace Learning (WPL) paperwork and are encouraged to begin organising their next placement.

Ā 

Parents and caregivers are asked to check their email for the Workplace Learning Parent Information document, which addresses frequently asked questions.

Ā 

Please note that all paperwork must be returned by 1 May 2026 to allow sufficient time for pre-placement checks to be completed.


Key Dates for Workplace Learning

Year 11:

• Term 2: Weeks 6-7 - 25 May to 5 June (boarders long weekend in between)

• Term 4: Weeks 6-7 - 16-27 November

Year 12:

• Term 2: Weeks 6-7 - 25 May to 5 June (boarders long weekend in between)

• Term 4: Weeks 1-2 - 12-22 October (Graduation Friday, Week 1)

Ā 

Work experience dates (Year 10 I&E)

• Term 2: Week 10 - 22-26 June - due 22 May

• Term 3: Week 10 - 21-25 September

• Term 4: Weeks 7 and 8 - 23 November - 3 December (two weeks WPL - no exams)


Training Opportunities

1. Become a Swimming Instructor

Swimming instructors and coaches are in high demand, with a frequent shortage during holiday periods. To become a swimming instructor with us, you must:

• be at least 17 years old

• hold a current CPR certificate

• hold a swimming instructor qualification

• hold a Working with Children Check, or have applied for one

2. Defence Work Experience Program

The Defence Work Experience Program gives young Australians the chance to explore life in Defence and discover careers in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and the Australian Public Service (APS). It is a unique opportunity to learn, gain hands-on experience and see what a career in Defence could look like.Ā

3. School-based Traineeships
