Year 9 & 10 Coordinator

Term 1 has been a highly positive and engaging start for our Year 9 and 10 students, with many opportunities for both personal growth and meaningful learning experiences.

A major highlight for our Year 9 cohort was the successful five-day camp at the CYC Phillip Island campsite. As part of the Year of Challenge program, students explored God’s original plan for humanity and reflected on how they are shaped in His identity. Through collaboration, shared challenges, and time spent in nature, students strengthened relationships, built resilience, and deepened their understanding of faith and self.

Year 9 students also demonstrated great enthusiasm during the Cross-Country event held on Tuesday, 31st March. It was wonderful to see such strong participation, with students showing determination, perseverance, and excellent support for one another.

Our Year 10 students have also enjoyed a range of valuable experiences this term. A standout opportunity was attending the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2026 at Albert Park in Melbourne. This excursion allowed students to engage in a variety of fun and educational activities while gaining insight into real-world STEM applications.

In addition, many Year 10 students are participating in the Mission and Service Trip to Townsville and various outreach venues, known as “Youth Adventures.” This experience will support the development of character, faith, leadership, communication skills, empathy, and self-confidence, leaving a lasting impact on those involved.

Harmony Day was another special occasion this term, celebrating the rich cultural diversity within our school community. Students participated in a range of activities that promoted inclusivity, respect, and a sense of belonging.

We also celebrate the sporting achievements of our students. Christway College competed in the CSEN Swimming Championships with fantastic results, including Reet (10A) placing 1st in Breaststroke and Butterfly and 2nd in Freestyle, and Ransher (9B) achieving 2nd in Backstroke and Freestyle and 3rd in Breaststroke.

Additionally, in Tennis, Amey (9A) achieved an outstanding 1st place at the WRTA Junior Summer Competition Finals. These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication and effort of our students.

Overall, our start has been a successful and enriching term for both cohorts. We commend our students for their positive attitude and willingness to embrace new challenges, and we thank our staff and families for their continued support.
