Greater Western Region Swimming

Congratulations to our Junior School students who represented King’s College at the Greater Western Region (GWR) Swimming Championships in Horsham.

To reach this level, students were required to qualify from our school Swimming Carnival with qualifying times, then get in the top 2 at Division competing against many schools across South West Victoria to earn their place at GWR. A great achievement.

In Senior School, Joshua F and Lucas F represented the College and achieved great results, with multiple first and second place finishes. Joshua will now continue on to SSV State Championships this month.

All students should be incredibly proud of their efforts, commitment, and determination throughout the swimming pathway. Representing the school at a regional level is no small feat, and they did so with great sportsmanship and pride.

Well done to all involved!

Greater Western Region Volleyball

On March 31, King's College sent two teams to compete at the Greater Western Region Volleyball Finals in Horsham. Both teams played well against some tough competition. The Senior Boys won a set against the team advancing to the State Finals, and the Girls also won a match. Thank you to Tom Leach for organising and training our students.

Warrnambool Region Sporting Clay Target Competition

King's College, in conjunction with the Warrnambool Sporting Shooters Association of Australia, hosted the Warrnambool Region Sporting Clay Target Competition this week.

Although we were down on overall numbers, we still had eleven schools represented from across South West Victoria. The conditions were sunny, with a solid wind making some targets tricky at times. Our students gave their best despite being unable to have regular training sessions with me recently.

We achieved two medals, with the Junior Boys bringing home the bling. Max (Year 9) took third place and Xavier (Year 8) went into a shoot off for the first time and took second place.

A big congratulations to all our students who competed.

Junior School District Athletics

On Tuesday 31st March, 38 of our Junior School students proudly represented King’s College at the District Athletics Carnival, competing against schools of a similar size.

It was a fantastic day of competition, with many of our students achieving excellent results and a number progressing through to the next level. Their determination, sportsmanship, and willingness to give their best in each event was wonderful to see.

A highlight of the day was the positive spirit shown by our students, not only supporting their teammates but also encouraging competitors from other schools. Congratulations to all who competed.

Year 3 Tennis

Over the past three weeks, our Year 3 students have enjoyed their time participating in a tennis program at Beachside Tennis. Each session provided students with the opportunity to develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Students were introduced to the fundamentals of tennis, including how to hold a racquet correctly, basic footwork, and the key techniques required to serve, rally, and return the ball.

It was fantastic to see their confidence grow each week as they practiced their serving and worked on maintaining rallies with their partners.
